Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Ellen is a Board Certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. She has her Doctorate in Nursing Practice. She joined Wellness Psychiatry in November 2022 with the goal of providing compassionate, evidence-based care to a wide variety of patients. Ellen grew up in Grand Junction, Colorado. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in biology from Kenyon College in 2013, she joined the Peace Corps and served in Ghana. There, she learned about the value of accessible healthcare and the versatile applications of nursing. Upon returning to the states, she completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Colorado in 2016 and immediately focused on psychiatric care. Ellen worked at Centennial Peaks Hospital and then Denver Health, on the inpatient adolescent, consultation-liaison, electroconvulsive therapy, and inpatient adult units. In 2022, Ellen completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice at the University of Wyoming. Her education, experience, and training enable Ellen to provide excellent, collaborative care to her patients.

Outside of work, Ellen enjoys spending time with her husband and their three dogs. They like to eat pizza, see live music, and are (very tentatively) learning to kayak.
